About the Photographer:
My name is Rachael Ritchie. I am a freelance photographer in the North-West Tennessee area, and a member of National Association of Professional Women. My wonderful husband and I (seen below) are stationed at Fort Campbell where he is an Engineer officer. I went to school at the University of South Florida where my portfolio was accepted into the College of Fine Arts. I currently have one more semester to attain my BA in Photography which I am finishing at Austin Peay State University here in Clarksville.
I have been a photographer for five years now. I enjoy capturing as much emotion and personality as I possibly can in each photo I take. I love being a part of the joy of a wedding day, and I aim to show that joy through my photographs. My photography style is an eclectic mix of Fine Art Photography and Photojournalism. I aim to make every photo a piece of art, while capturing every little detail. I am also notorious for taking a lot more photos than I guarantee!

There are many advantages to shooting on-location rather than in a studio when it comes to portraits. First of all, there is so much freedom; you are not limited to the walls of a small space. There are only so many variations of shots you can take in a studio, but as soon as you step outside the possibilities are endless! Secondly, many children (and adults for that matter) really tense up and don't feel comfortable in a small space with bright lights pointed at them! I have worked in studios before, and being comfortable really makes a big difference in your photos. But if you put that same child in a park, I am able to photograph their real personality as they run around and play. Lastly, nothing can beat the amazing natural lighting that God gave us. Especially around sunset!
